The Savannah is often described as the most beautiful cat in the world. He is beautiful and majestic, resembling his exotic African Serval ancestor, but with all the same characteristics and care of a regular cat. He is has the temperament and affection of a regular cat. Additionally, day-to-day care is the same as any cat.
The Savannah Cat is a new breed. He may appear larger than a regular cat because of his tall long limbs, and sleek athletic build. The height and weight of a particular Savannah depend on the breeds used to develop particular lines, as well as how closely related he is to the Serval. There are large and small Savannahs at every generation.
The Savannah breed is recognized by TICA (The International Cat Association).

The Savannah Cat is a regal, wild-looking cat. Like his Serval ancestor, he has huge ears set high on the head, bold black spots, and he is tall, lean, and athletic. Savannahs are engaging and playful, very intelligent cats. They can be taught to walk on a leash and often enjoy water. In spite of their exotic looks, Savannahs are regular cats and require the same care as any household pet. We recommend high quality canned food and kibble and annual veterinary visits for shots and wellness checkups. Savannahs are a new breed in development and therefore somewhat rare. A quality kitten is wild-looking in appearance and has good health and temperament. Often, the differences between a “show,” “breeder,” or “pet,” are very slight, such as a rib stripe or longer tail on an otherwise stunning kitten.
Breeder prospect kittens have qualities that contribute positive traits to the breed.
The Show Kitten's appearance and structure fits closest to the breed standard, and his or her temperament is outgoing and gregarious.
